On Thursday August 27th The Salvation Army in Port Colborne received a generous donation of bottled water to be used throughout South Niagara for Emergency Diaster Services (EDS) which provides food and hydration to first responders of disasters in our Region & for The Niagara Mobile Outreach Program which serves nightly meals and beverages to those in our communities who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The nine skids of water were brought by transport truck that morning and with the assistance of the Port Colborne Fire Department and The Salvation Army staff, it took about 1 hour and 45 minutes to unload each case into the Port Colborne Thrift Store basement storage. There were approximately 1,200 – 12 bottle cases! It was a long, hot morning, but the SA staff would like to sincerely thank the Port Colborne Fire Department for all their efforts and support! The job could not have been done in the 2 hour time frame of delivery without your help and significant monetary savings were achieved! Thank you, thank you!
